Physical UI
The physical language behind every Uxome object: coherent construction, material, depth, light, mechanics, and consequence.
Uxome starts with objects before interfaces: surfaces establish structure, panels assemble a functional unit, and controls communicate a mechanical consequence. Materials, depth and light come from one token layer.
Surface
Quiet structure. No invented shadow per component.
Panel
A bounded unit that can hold controls, readouts or data.
Visual language / Precision Instrumentalism
Instrument-grade physical UI
Uxome translates the clarity of precision instruments into software. Light is a natural-aluminum assembly; Dark is the same assembly in anodized graphite. The information plane remains smoked, controls retain their anatomy, and only the material recipe changes.
One chassis
The page is one assembled product, not a flat canvas holding unrelated 3D cards.
Material contrast
Natural aluminum or dark anodized chassis; smoked displays and graphite grip parts stay optically distinct.
Relational depth
Plates mount to a body, controls rise from wells, and displays sit behind a bezel.
Scarce signal
Orange communicates energy, active state, or consequence. It never becomes decorative surface color.
Legible mechanics
A control reveals travel, range, resistance, and state before animation adds feedback.
Functional detail
Seams, fasteners, knurling, and perforation fields appear only where they explain construction or use.
Design principles
- Structure before decoration.
- Physical hierarchy before visual hierarchy.
- Materials behave consistently.
- Light comes from one system.
- Motion expresses mechanics.
- Decoration never pretends to be function.
